Holy Bible. In the Bible God teaches you how to be. It also tells about Jesus' life. I go to Church every Sunday and I read the readings from the Bible. I like it because it teaches you how to live. But some readings from the Bible are hard to understand because Jesus uses a lot of analogies.
Holes - Louis Sachar. This book is about a kid named Stanley that got sent to jail camp because he got mistaken for stealing shoes. At the camp him and the other kids have to dig holes but they don't know why. The camp is a hard and horrible place. In they middle of the book they find out that they are digging holes to find treasure for the prison warden. At the end he gets to leave the camp because they find out he is innocent. I didn't really like this book because it was slow moving and it wasn't exciting. I kind of liked this book because I liked that Stanley got saved and that his family wasn't cursed anymore.
The Rainbow Fish. Marcus Pfister - This book is about a fish that has colorful scales, and when other fish ask him if they can have a scale, he says no. In the end of the book the fish gives his scales away. This book influenced me when I was younger because it taught me that you shouldn't be greedy.
So Gross - Scholastic. This book contains over 100+ random gross facts. I liked it because I like to read non-fiction. This book influenced me to read more non-fiction to learn about new things. I'd rather read non-fiction than fiction because fiction is made up and non-fiction is real.
Goosebumps - R. L. Stine. These books are a collection of scary stories. These books influenced me because reading them made me want to watch scary movies. After reading them I would get scared because I was young. Even still now I watch scary movies and read scary stuff, but now I feel like Goosebumps is not scary.
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid - Jeff Kinney. This book is about a kid writing about his life in a diary. He is not popular and his brother treats him bad. There is also a girl that bullies him. I just read this book because we had to read a certain amount of books. Most people thought it was funny but I didn't like it, I thought it was cheesy.
Island of the Blue Dolphins - Scott O'Dell. This book is about a girl that gets trapped on an island and has to survive. I liked this book because it was cool to see how the girl survived on the island with basically nothing.
The Giving Tree - Shel Silverstein. This book is about a tree that always gives stuff to a boy. When the boy gets older he gives back to the tree. This book taught me to always give back to those that give to you. I liked this book because it has very colorful pictures.
The Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon - Crockett Johnson. This book is about a boy that draws his world from a purple crayon. It shows his adventures through his drawings. I like this book because it is exciting and fun to see Harold's adventures.
Bossy Bear - David Horvath. This book is about a bear that is very bossy. At the end of the book the bear finds a friend and learns not to be so bossy. This book taught me not to be bossy and to be nice. I liked this book because of the illustrations.
